  • Crossroads Coatings has developed a product line of green cleaners. These products are based on a market need for household and industrial cleaners that are as strong as ones with harsh chemicals but environmentally safe. Our products are based on biodegradable renewable resources and they are all non-toxic and have no carcinogens.
    • Outdoor Cleaner for decks, siding and concrete. Better than bleach and solvent based cleaners for removing dirt and mold growth but no adverse effects to humans or the environment.
    • Indoor cleaner for kitchens and baths. As effective as bleach for removing mold, mildew, and stains but it has no odor. Safe to use around children and pets.
    • Industrial Cleaner that is effective in removing product buildup on equipment, flooring, and walls. It works better than solvent based cleaners but has no adverse health or environmental effects.

  • Many flame retardant products are made with decabromine-diphenylether (DecaBDE), which the EPA has classified as a potential carcinogen and harmful to the central nervous system. By 2013 these types of flame retardants will be phased out and replaced with safer alternatives. Crossroads Coatings has developed a non-carcinogenic, non-toxic alternative. It is currently in testing for furniture applications and from there modifications will be developed for textiles, wood, and electronics.

  • Reflective roof coatings help reduce cooling and heating costs but the disadvantage are limited color choices beyond white or light colors. Crossroads Coatings is developing affordable reflective roof coatings that will be available in a variety of colors including black and dark green. The coatings will be formulated with green products and they will be durable and easy to apply.

  • Many commercial coal tar sealers contain polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), which are listed by the EPA as a carcinogen. Recently, the US Geological Survey completed a study concluding high levels of PAHs in residential and commercial buildings from parking lot residue. Already, the cities of Austin, TX and Madison, WI along with Washington D.C. have banned coal tar sealants and many districts are expected to follow. Crossroads Coatings is developing an asphalt sealer to replace the coal tar based sealers.
    • Non-carcinogenic
    • Environmentally safe
    • Excellent wear and comparable to current coal tar sealers
